Azerbaijan`s Ulvi Mammadov wins gold at European Shotokan Championships in Bulgaria

The 13th European Championship organized by the World and European Shotokan Federation (WSF/ESF) was held in Kranevo, Bulgaria on April 28-30.

According to SIA, our national team also participated in the European Championship.

Azerbaijani karate team's captain, second-degree black belt, world champion athlete (+84 kg) Ulvi Mammadov, fighting in the +84kg weight division, won all 4 of his fights.

Mammadov defeated his opponent from Romania, Georgia, the Czech Republic and Bulgaria in the final match, climbed to the first step of the podium and won the title of European champion.

The world champion Ulvi Mammadov won bronze in team fights at the 25th European fudokan championship held in Katowice, Poland in October 2021 with the participation of more than 30 countries, silver at the WSF World Championship in Turkiye on November 5-7, 2021, 2022 won a silver medal at the Open Asian Championship in Kyrgyzstan.

Last year, at the 12th World Shotokan Championship organized by the World Shotokan Federation (WSF) in Pardubice, Czech Republic, Mammadov also won the title of world champion.
