21 Azerbaijani Karate players leave for EKF Senior Championships 2023

The Azerbaijani national karate team and the para-karate team, consisting of adults, have left for Guadalajara, Spain to fight for the continental title in the anticipated 2023 EKF Senior Championships.

According to the information provided to SIA by the Federation, Azerbaijan will be represented by 21 athletes in the competition to be held from March 22 to 26.

Aminaga Guliyev (60 kg), Tural Aghalarzadeh (67 kg), Farid Aghayev (75 kg), Turgut Hasanov (84 kg) and Asiman Gurbanli (+84 kg) in individual competitions accompanied by the head coach of the men's kumite national team Gurban Tagiyev, Aykhan Mamayev , Panah Abdullayev, Rafiz Hasanov and Huseyn Mammadli will compete together with their friends in team performances.

Kumite women's head coach Shahin Khudaverdiyev will manage Fidan Teymurova (50 kg), Madina Sadigova (55 kg), Renata Arabli (61 kg), Irina Zaretska (68 kg) and Farida Aliyeva (+68 kg) not only in individual competitions, but also in team performances during the tournament.

Vahid Ayavazov, head coach of the kata team, will take Roman Heydarov to the individual kata, and the team consisting of Rovshan Aliyev, Tural Baljanli and Ismayil Guliyev to the team kata competitions.

Para-karate players Nihat Mammadzade, Eldar Ahmadov and Emilia Mitlinova will be accompanied by head coach Ranad Aliyev. International judges Jahangir Babayev, Vugar Karimov and Anar Allahverdiyev will be among the referees of the continental championship.

Yashar Bashirov, president of the Azerbaijan National Karate Federation (AMKF) and member of the European Karate Federation (EKF) Board, as well as Gabil Sayadov, general secretary of the AMKF, will participate in the Congress of the EKF.

468 athletes from 48 countries will participate in the five-day continental championship.
