Azerbaijan Canoe and Rowing Federation organized the first sports event of 2023 on Baku Boulevard - Caspian Sea.
SIA reports that along with local residents, the Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov and Deputy Mariana Vasilyeva watched the tournament. Athletes made marches in 1-, 2- and 4-person academic boats, as well as 1- and 2-person kayaks. A total of 49 rowers from Mingachevir and Baku competed for 8 sets of medals in the competition, in which title-winning athletes of our national team, such as Ziya Mammadzade and Bahman Nasiri, participated. The winners of the tournament were awarded with a diploma.
During the event, it was also brought to attention that the Azerbaijan Canoe and Rowing Federation will soon start mobile meetings and that these meetings will start from Baku. The exact date and location of the first mobile meeting with residents in the capital will be announced to the public in the near future. The mobile meetings are intended to be in all districts of Azerbaijan. The main goal here is to popularize rowing in the country and to ensure mass participation.
