The Emir of Qatar visits the 2022 World Cup leadership center

The Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, visited the main leadership center of the Qatar World Cup 2022 at the Doha Exhibition Center in the Al-Qassar area, days before the start of the global event, which is being held for the first time on Arab soil.

During the visit, the Emir of Qatar was briefed on the FIFA operations center, the main operations command center of the host country, and the preparations and measures taken for the global sporting event to ensure the highest international standards in coordination and follow-up.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino informed the Emir of Qatar about the activities of the center. He noted that specialists with a high level of professionalism will supervise each of the 64 matches that will be played from November 20 to December 18. The employees of the center will also take care of welcoming guests, organizing meetings and briefings.

After the meeting, it was announced that the FIFA Referees Committee, headed by the famous Italian referee Pier Luigi Collina, will hold a press conference in Doha on November 18. FIFA's director of referees, Massimo Busakka, and director of technology and innovation, Johannes Holtsmüller, will also take part in the conference. Currently, the referees who will officiate the games of the World Cup are participating in the final training camp in Qatar stadiums.

36 referees, 69 assistant referees and 24 VAR referees will manage the games of the world championship.
