On September 13, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a delegation headed by the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Odile Reno-Basso. SIA reports that issues of expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and EBRD in various fields were discussed at the meeting.
In particular, the support of economic activity in the non-oil sector, the implementation of projects on the creation of jobs, the participation and support of the EBRD in increasing the financing of the private sector, along with state enterprises, in the projects already implemented in the field of renewable and alternative energy in Azerbaijan were noted, and the importance of widening participation was emphasized.
During the meeting, the prospects of the project signed yesterday between the EBRD and "Azerbaijan Caspian Sea Shipping" JSC and providing credit in the amount of 100 million dollars were discussed. The sides also exchanged views on the possible participation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in the expansion of the Southern Gas Corridor project, which is of particular importance for Europe's energy security.
Cooperation in the field of telecommunications was touched upon, and the significance of signing Grant, Credit and Project agreements on the "Street Lighting" project to be implemented within the "Ganja-Green City Program" was stressed. The prospects of implementing similar projects in other cities of our country were addressed.
