The draft European Parliament resolution to be voted later today holds no value for Georgia, as it is yet another, the sixth, completely unjust resolution and an attack on the Georgian state and the independence of the media, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists in Dubai, SİA informs via GPB.
The prime minister stated that such actions and resolutions had a severe impact on the reputation of the European bureaucracy in the eyes of Georgian society.
“This reminds us of the nine-year period during which a brutal regime was in power, attacking statehood and media independence in our country. This regime was led by the same forces currently initiating these resolutions in the European Parliament.
It is a very unfortunate event, and these actions seriously affect the reputation of the European bureaucracy in Georgia. We hope that the European Union, European institutions, and the bureaucracy will recover, as the current trends are quite concerning,” said Irakli Kobakhidze.
