At today's meeting of Azerbaijan's Parliament, a new draft law On Diplomatic Service was discussed, SİA reports.
The new law defines the principles of diplomatic service, the areas of activity of diplomatic service bodies, the main duties and rights of diplomatic service employees, the restrictions applied to them, measures to encourage employees, the procedures for holding them disciplinarily accountable, the new classification of positions in diplomatic service bodies, the rules of employee rotation, new conditions for their recall, the status of employees placed at the disposal of the diplomatic service body, and their removal from the execution of duties, as well as the rules for calculating diplomatic service tenure and the age limit for diplomatic service.
It also includes provisions regarding the oath of diplomatic service employees, the evaluation and attestation of diplomats' professional activities, and the cases in which service in diplomatic bodies may be terminated.
The draft law was put to a vote and adopted in the third reading.
