Those who do not comply with this requirement are not given a ballot paper and are asked to leave the polling station

During the elections, each of us has witnessed that the thumb of our left hand is marked with invisible ink while voting. Is it mandatory to do this or can one refuse to be marked?

Secki 2024 Independent Media Center reforms that marking the voter's finger with invisible ink is a requirement of the Election Code. Thus, according to Article 104.6 of the Election Code, a part of the nail and skin of the thumb of the left hand must be marked with an invisible ink before giving the ballot paper to the voter.

A voter who refuses to have his finger marked is not given a ballot paper and is asked to leave the polling station.

"Refused to be marked" is recorded in the voter list.

It is worth noting that snap elections to the Milli Majlis will be held in Azerbaijan on September 1.
