Russian peacekeepers spared no effort to ensure peace and stability in Garabagh, Chief of General Staff of Azerbaijan says

“Today, on this significant day, I would like to remind you that the 44-day Patriotic War, which took place more than 3 years ago, ended with the complete victory of Azerbaijan and the restoration of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces,” said First Deputy Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan - Chief of General Staff Colonel-General Karim Valiyev at the solemn ceremony held dedicated to the withdrawal of the Russian peacekeeping contingent from the territory of the Garabagh economic region of Azerbaijan, APA reports.

Karim Valiyev, who conveyed the greetings of Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov, said that on November 10, 2020, a ceasefire was reached as a result of the tripartite statement signed by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the President of the Russian Federation and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, which lasted for nearly 30 years, ended: “During the period of mission, the peacekeeping contingent fulfilled the assigned tasks and duties and spared no effort to ensure peace and stability in the territory of the Garabagh economic region.
