As an oil and gas producing country, Azerbaijan can be an example to other countries at COP29, the COP29 President-Designate and the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan said at the first press conference held at the COP29 headquarters, SİA informs.
The minister commented on the criticism in the foreign media that Azerbaijan is an oil and gas-producing country, and this is against the principles of the COP: " Azerbaijan has a long history as an oil and gas country. This can be an example for the countries in the region. We will share with other countries the programs adopted in Azerbaijan, as well as the creation of alternative energy sources, and the adoption of a broad growth strategy. In this regard, COP29 is an opportunity for us."
