Azerbaijan's Energy Minister, Prime Minister of Georgia discuss energy cooperation

Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov, who is on a working visit to Georgia, has met with the Prime Minister of Georgia , Irakli Garibashvili.

According to SIA, high-level relations, political dialogue and successful energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia were emphasized at the meeting.

The joint implementation of global energy projects and continuous contributions to Georgia's energy security were evaluated as indicators of strategic partnership relations. Projects and new opportunities that will ensure the development of energy cooperation in a bilateral and multilateral format were also evaluated.

Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili called Azerbaijan a reliable strategic partner and a country that plays a key role in Georgia's energy supply. He expressed his support for cooperation on energy projects that will serve stability and development in the region. The Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov noted that the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev attaches special importance to the comprehensive development of relations with Georgia and drew attention to the opportunities to deepen energy cooperation.

The work done on increasing the transmission capacity of the energy systems of Azerbaijan and Georgia, ensuring the transportation of electricity exported from Azerbaijan to Turkey and European countries was reviewed. The issues arising from the implementation of the Black Sea underwater electric and digital connection project, which will unite Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania and Hungary, were discussed. It was noted that this project will open a new page in the relations between our countries.

During the conversation, other areas of bilateral relations of mutual interest, as well as the situation in the global energy markets, were exchanged.
