“Iran, Azerbaijan and Russia form the backbone of the "North-South" corridor,” said Seyed Abbas Mousavi, Iran's ambassador to Azerbaijan, on his Twitter page, SİA reports.

He said that the tripartite memorandum of understanding signed today for the facilitation of transit indicates a breakthrough in the country's foreign trade.

"In the shadow of the neighborhood policy of the 3 countries, the joining of India to this mechanism will further revive the development of the road," the ambassador said.
