Sahin Bagirov: Information exchange platform with Georgia, Turkiye will be developed in next 3 months

From the beginning of construction of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars project until the end of construction, Azerbaijan has always supported this project, Sahin Bagirov, the first deputy chairman of the State Customs Committee, acting chairman, said at the Tripartite Committee meeting on Customs Issues between the governments of Turkiye, Azerbaijan, and Georgia in Baku.

According to him, the customs service has a lot of work to do in this project: "Our goal is to deliver the goods quickly and safely. For this, we need to solve all the necessary procedures related to the organization of customs work. Here we should work together with Georgia and Turkiye."

Bagirov said that the customs service of Azerbaijan has extensive cooperation with the customs service of Georgia and Turkiye: "A platform for information exchange in electronic form will be prepared within the next three months."

The chairman of the Customs Committee said that after the information exchange platform is prepared, trains will not be subject to idle stops. He noted that the head of the country attaches great importance to increasing the transit potential in the country.

Bagirov noted that the initial exchange of information to facilitate transit customs procedures, as well as to increase the transit potential of seaports and transportation of transit cargo through the North-South and Central Corridors, will be given great importance: "Our cooperation will create a platform at the international level."
