Gas production in Azerbaijan increased over the seven months

According to operational data for January-July 2022, Azerbaijan produced 27.3 billion cubic meters of natural gas. 7.9 billion cubic meters of gas were produced from Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli, 14.8 billion cubic meters from Shah Deniz and 4.6 bcm from SOCAR, SIA cites the Ministry of Energy. Gas was transported with an increase of approximately 3.2 bcm, namely 13.3 percent compared to the relevant period last year.

During the reporting period, gas sales abroad amounted to 12.9 bcm, which is 24 % more than in the same period last year. During 7 months, 4.8 bcm of gas was sold to Turkey, 1.6 billion cubic meters to Georgia and 6.5 billion cubic meters to Europe. It should be noted that, during this period nearly 3.2 bcm gas was exported to Turkey through TANAP.

Since the commissioning of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli and Shah Deniz till 1 August this year, about 198 bcm of gas was produced from Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli and more than 172.3 bcm of gas from Shah Deniz. During this period, 119.5 bcm gas was exported from Shah Deniz.

Azerbaijan produced 19.2 million tons of oil (including condensate) in January-July 2022. Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli accounted for 12 million tons of oil produced in the republic while Shah Deniz for 2.6 million tons (condensate). SOCAR's oil output amounted to 4.6 million tons (including condensate).

The volume of exported oil, including condensate, amounted to 15.6 million tons. Out of this, consortium accounts for nearly 14.7 million tons, SOCAR for 0.9 million tons.

Since its commissioning till 1 August 2022, nearly 596.9 million tons oil (including condensate) were extracted from Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli and Shah Deniz. 558.5 million tons of oil were extracted from ACG, while 38.4 million tons condensate from Shah Deniz. 595 million tons out of this were exported since 1 August.

In January-July of the current year, oil refining in the country amounted to 3.4 million tons.
