Energy shortage hits Pakistan's exports

Deteriorating electricity supplies in Pakistan are hitting the textile sector hard.

SIA reports quoting APA that, factory owners are concerned about power outages. They say that if this continues, exports to the sector could fall by 20%.

It should be noted that textiles account for 60% of Pakistan's exports and are worth billions of dollars. The country's main markets are the European Union and the United States.

The anomalous heat recorded on the last day increased energy demand by 20 percent. Forced openings are allowed because the stations cannot cope with the work. This also affects the production process.
