Cargo passing through Baku can be transported to the Turkish port of Anbarli

Within the framework of the Europe-Caucasus-Asia Transport Corridor (TRACECA), cargo passing through Baku is planned to be transported to the Turkish port of Anbarli. The statement came from TRACECA Secretary General Gaidar Abdikarimov, who is on a visit to Baku, SIA reports.

"The port of Anbar is located in the European part of Turkey. From here we can easily deliver cargo to Rotterdam, Hamburg," he said.

It should be noted that the European Union's TRACECA - "Europe-Caucasus-Asia Transport Corridor" program was attended in May 1993 by the Ministers of Trade and Transport of the Caucasus and Central Asia (Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan) was put forward at a conference in Brussels. The conference participants adopted the Brussels Declaration on the implementation of the TRACECA technical assistance program. The TRACECA Program promotes the rehabilitation of transport infrastructure in the newly independent states of the South Caucasus and Central Asia, the creation of the shortest transport corridor connecting Europe and Asia and thus the region's integration into the West, as well as has a purpose of establishing a reliable transport system.
