Turkey exported honey to 42 countries within first three months of the year

In the first three months of the year, honey was exported from Turkey to 42 countries.

According to the Eastern Black Sea Exporters' Union (EWUE), 4,421 tons of honey were sold from Turkey to 42 countries in January-March 2022, SIA reports quoting Turkish media. Revenues from these exports amounted to 11 million 302 thousand 715 dollars.

Turkey's honey exports in the first quarter of the year increased by 162 percent in quantity and 79 percent in value compared to the same period in 2021, earning $ 6,327,811 for 1,686 tons.

The United States ranked first in honey exports with $ 3,154,930. This country was followed by Germany with 1 million 792 thousand 468 dollars, Spain with 1 million 751 thousand 938 dollars, Israel with 1 million 351 thousand 171 dollars and Poland with 379 thousand 205 dollars.

Unlike the same period last year, Turkey also sold honey to Israel, Poland, Canada, Slovakia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo, Slovenia, Lebanon, Yemen, Iraq, Switzerland, Mauritania, Bangladesh, Cape Verde and Taiwan.
