"AzInTelecom" LLC, which operates under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, has been awarded the "WSIS Prizes-2021" by the International Telecommunication Union. According to the information given to SIA by the organization, the presentation took place during a meeting of the Council of the International Telecommunication Union in Geneva, Switzerland.
It should be noted that the project "Citizens' e-application portal - www.e-qebul.az" prepared by "AzInTelecom" LLC and the Executive Power of Shamakhi region last year "World Summit on the Information Society - 2021 Awards" of the International Telecommunication Union (WSIS Prizes-2021) was awarded the prize of the competition. The award could not be presented due to the virtual nature of the World Summit on the Information Society.
The project was developed by AzInTelecom LLC on the basis of proposals of the Executive Power of Shamakhi region in order to solve problems in relations between citizens and government agencies. The portal allows citizens to apply online without going to government agencies in person.
Along with Azerbaijan, 1270 e-projects from different countries were submitted to the competition. Based on the opinion of the group of experts, 360 of them took part in the competition.
The winning projects were determined by online voting in 18 nominations. More than 1.3 million people worldwide took part in the vote.
The "Citizens' e-application portal" won the competition in the "E-government" category.
