Azerbaijan’s agriculture minister attends 12th Berlin Agriculture Ministers’ Conference

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Agriculture Inam Karimov is attending the 12th Berlin Agriculture Ministers' Conference which brings together political decision-makers from all continents to discuss the key topic of GFFA 2020, SIA reports.

The International Conference of Agriculture Ministers is being held under the theme “Food for all! Trade for secure, diverse and sustainable food”. Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture Julia Klöckner welcomes 71colleagues and representatives of twelve international organizations in Berlin.

The Berlin Agriculture Ministers’ Conference is the political highlight of the GFFA. It is the world’s largest meeting of agriculture ministers and it has established itself as a key international event at the beginning of each year.

The final communiqué of the summit contains a Call for Action to collectively address the following four global trade-related challenges: fostering trade for global food security, making trade work for agricultural development, making food value chains inclusive, sustainable and safe, and strengthening fair rules in agricultural trade.

The common position of the agriculture ministers in the final communiqué is fed into international discussions on agricultural policy.
