Chingiz Guluyev, the head of the Zangilan District Tax Department of the State Tax Service (STS) under the Ministry of Economy, has been appointed as the head of the Eastern Zangezur Territory Tax Administration.
Additionally, there have been other new appointments within the STS, SIA reports.
Elakbar Mammadov has been appointed as the head of the Karabakh Territory Tax Administration. Previously serving as the head of the Registration and Accounting of Taxpayers Department, Mammadov brings with him extensive experience as a tax minister's advisor and former president of the Azerbaijan Confederation of Entrepreneurs.
Furthermore, Mirza Mirzayev has been appointed as the head of the Registration and Accounting of Taxpayers Department, succeeding Elakbar Mammadov. Mirzayev previously served as the deputy head of the Tax Audit Department.
Structural optimizations have been carried out within the State Tax Service since December of last year.
These changes aim to enhance the positive dynamics of tax revenues, streamline the tax ecosystem in the liberated territories, facilitate access to tax services for residents and businesses operating there, and ensure citizen satisfaction, as well as to improve the overall risk-based supervision framework.
According to the changes, tax authorities have been established in the liberated territories. Based on the tax departments of the liberated districts, the Karabakh Territory Tax Administration and the Eastern Zangezur Territory Tax Administration have been created.
The main objectives here are to reintegrate the liberated territories into the country's economy, accelerate the Great Return, align tax administration with the general governance model, and ensure accessibility to tax services.
