The Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov met with the Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of the Romanian Parliament Ion-Marcel Ciolacu, SIA refers to the ministry's press service.
According to the ministry, the importance of high-level mutual visits, meetings and events in the development of cooperation with Romania was emphasized at the meeting.
"Trade relations, which are the main directions of economic partnership, are expanding. In 2022, the trade turnover between our countries has increased more than twice. However, there are great opportunities for the development of cooperation in the energy, transport-transit, industry, etc. fields," the statement said.
Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of the Romanian Parliament, Ion-Marcel Ciolacu, noted that Romania attaches great importance to cooperation with Azerbaijan, and that relations have intensified recently. He also shared his views on the prospects of implementing joint economic projects.
The parties discussed strengthening relations between the two countries, as well as development directions of energy cooperation and economic relations.
