Turkish jets carried out airstrikes on suspected Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) targets in southeastern Turkey overnight, SIA reports citing teh AA.
According to the Turkish General Staff’s statement on its official website, the airstrikes targeted 17 "terrorist targets" around the Buzul Mountain and Ikiyaka region in Hakkari province.
Although the military did not specify any group by name in the statement, the "terrorist targets" are believed to be suspected positions of the outlawed PKK organization.
The operation follows a string of attacks against Turkish security forces Monday, which killed six personnel.
