Three civilians killed in Ukrainian army’s shelling of Donetsk

Three civilians have been killed in the Ukrainian army’s shelling of Donetsk, the city council said on Tuesday.

The Ukrainian military shelled the city’s Petrovsky and Kievsky districts last night, destroying several residential buildings, and also some premises of the Trudovskaya coalmine, the city council said.

"Unfortunately, three civilians were killed," the city council said.

Meanwhile, east Ukraine self-defense fighters are battling with the pro-Kiev troops for control of the town of Ilovaisk and the settlements of Yelenovka (Olenovka) and Yasinovataya, the local news agency Novorossiya reported on Tuesday.

Fighting for Yelenovka (Olenovka) resumed on Tuesday morning. The militias gained control of this populated area on Monday but were eventually forced to leave it as they had no reinforcements to continue their offensive.
