A heart-rending and touching video has emerged this week from Syria showing what was described as an emotional reunion between a distraught young father and his son, who he thought had been killed in a recent attack.
The 7-minute footage allegedly recorded in the southwestern town of Zamalka was posted on YouTube by Syrian activists Monday.
The video, which is sure to make anyone tear up, shows a young man running out of a house, his face expressing both joy and utter shock, to embrace his toddler son.
The father is so overcome with emotion that several men, presumably his relatives or neighbors, have to hold him back before he finally embraces his son.
The boy is then briefly take away from the father, as he appears to be close to fainting, and other men rally around him, holding him up and trying to calm him down.
A few minutes later, after the overwhelmed young parent appears to have regained his composure, his son - a bright-eyed little boy in a pink checkered shirt - is once again in the arms of his overjoyed dad.
