Israeli soldier steps on holy Koran

Arab League strongly condemned Israeli soldier's stepping on copy of the holy Koran.

Arab League has strongly condemned an Israeli soldier's stepping on a copy of the holy Koran and interfering with the girls reading the Koran in Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Mohammad Sabih, assistant secretary general of the Arab League, called for urgent precaution against Israel oppression of Palestinian people. He said things going on in Al-Aqsa are a message for Arab and Islam world.

"We strongly condemn the cruelty," said Mohammad Sabih. "It is a violation of human rights and disrespect to Jerusalem, our sacred values and Muslim people," he said.

An Israeli soldier interfered with the girls who came together to read the Koran in Al-Aqsa Mosque, said Al-Aqsa Foundation and Cultural Heritage Organization. During the interference, a girl dropped the copy of the holy Koran she was carrying and an Israeli soldier stepped on it.

This action of the Israeli soldier was described as a clear provocation against Islam world by 1948 Palestinian Islamic Movements, guided by Raid Salah.

The Israeli government has not yet released a statement about the incident.

Another Israeli soldier had previously shared on his Instagram account a photograph showing the back of a Palestinian boy's head in the crosshairs of his sniper rifle.
