Blood and urine samples of Armeian presidential candidate show some irregularities

The laboratory testing of the blood and urine samples of Armeian presidential candidate Andreas Ghukasyan—who is on a hunger strike—has shown some irregularities, the Health Ministry informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Once the sample results had come in, First Deputy Health Minister Hayk Darbinyan paid a second visit to Ghukasyan, on Monday evening, and again asked him to undergo laboratory examination. The presidential contender promised to inform about his decision on Tuesday at 11am.

To note, the Health Ministry already announced that it bears responsibility for the health of each and every citizen of Armenia. Also, both the health minister and his first deputy have personally informed Ghukasyan that a long-term hunger strike could result in an irrevocable damage to human health.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, presidential contender Andreas Ghukasyan is on a hunger strike ever since January 21, and under the slogan, "Stop Fake Elections." He demands from the Central Electoral Commission to declare the ruling Republican Party presidential candidate, incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan’s formal nomination null and void. Ghukasyan’s health condition has fluctuated over the course of his hunger strike. Representatives from Andreas Ghukasyan’s campaign headquarters and an ambulance staff are on 24-hour duty at his side.
