According to ‘Euronews’, at least 21 people have been killed in a series of explosions and shootings across Iraq.
In Baghdad, a car bomb killed six civilian and wounded 28 others in the mainly Shi’ite district of Husainiya.
There were similar scenes of destruction in the volatile northern city of Kirkuk. One eyewitness said police believed the owner of a booby-trapped car was in a restaurant: "We told them the car had no owner. As they left, the vehicle blew up killing two people and injuring two others."
No group has yet claimed responsibility but al Qaeda’s local wing, the Islamic State of Iraq, said it was behind a line of attacks in June and July as part of a renewed offensive.
