The UN Security Council has strongly condemned Friday’s terrorist attack in the Syrian capital of Damascus that left dozens dead and scores wounded, Xinhua news agency reported on Saturday.
At least 26 people were killed and 63 wounded after a bomb, apparently targeting police, went off at a busy crossroads in the Midan district in central Damascus shortly before the noon prayer.
"The members of the Security Council condemned in the strongest terms the terrorist attack that occurred in Damascus, Syria, on Jan. 6, 2012, causing scores of deaths and injuries," the agency quoted a UN Security Council statement as saying.
