OSCE Minsk Group must be more active - Davutoglu
The 18th meeting of the Organization of European Security and Cooperation Ministerial Council has begun in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius.

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu is representing Turkey at the meeting, TRT reports.

The priority items on the council's agenda are fighting against terrorism, smuggling, intolerance and discrimination.

The Organization has also been making concerted efforts for the disputes in Turkey's periphery, including the Karabah issue, to be resolved.

The OSCE Ministerial Council meetings take place in those years when no summits of the OSCE leaders are held and set the direction to be followed by the organization the following year.

"Unfortunately, a number of conflicts in OSCE region still remain unsolved, this both influences the organization’s activity and undermines credibility of the OSCE.

Therefore, we support the efforts towards the resolution of the conflicts in the OSCE region," Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said at the 18th Meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Vilnius.

"Turkey is committed to contributing to the resolution of the conflict basing on the principles of territorial integrity and sovereignty. The negotiations on the resolution of Nagorno Karabakh conflict have not produced long-expected results, therefore, OSCE Minsk Group must be more active," he said.
