As the Azerbaijan swimming team left the Athletes Village en route for training at the city's state-of-the-art Aquatics Centre on Wednesday, the Big in Baku team caught up with coach Rashad Abdurahmanov and Qriqoriy Kalminskiy, the country's 16-year-old backstroke specialist.
Baku's swimming complex is one of the few in the world to feature two Olympic-sized pools, and Kalminskiy says he is confident that competitive swimming in Azerbaijan has a bright future. Moreover, he hopes that a good showing at the European Games could pave the way for him to make an appearance at next year's Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
