The last- XIX meeting of steering committee on preparation for the First European Games between Baku European Games Operating Committee (BEGOC) and the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies (MCHT) was held in the MCHT.
Speaking at the opening of the meeting, Minister of Communications and High Technologies Ali Abbasov spoke about the importance of telecommunications, radio and TV, Internet and other communication services and radio frequencies for holding the First European Games at a high level.
Saying the preparatory work for the Games has been carried out properly in accordance with the requirements of BEGOC and completed, the Minister emphasized the joint efforts of ministry’s associations, enterprises and other relevant agencies.
Then, information was provided on the organization of special communication services with relevant organizations, protection of state and strategic internet sites, information security, organization of internet services, new basic and alternative communication channels, organization of fixed and mobile phone services, the use of Azerspace-1 satellite for broadcasting of games.
At the same time, the sides discussed the coverage area of mobile services and the results of the monitoring of its quality by an expert of the United States Global Wireless Solutions in the cities Baku, Ganja, Mingachevir and major highways of the republic during preparations for the games.
In addition, heads of mobile operators provided information on the results of the monitoring and measures undertaken in connection with the provision of stable and high-quality mobile services during the games.
In his closing remarks, the Minister gave appropriate instructions to ensure the stability and security of telecommunications services, TV and radio, Internet, mobile communication services, radio and safe operation, as well as strengthening the protection of channels and communication facilities.
Saying the preparation on providing the games with telecommunications services and radio frequencies is at the proper level, the Minister expressed confidence that this prestigious sporting event will be held at high level.
