Spain's badminton and triathlon teams for Baku 2015
Spain have named four badminton players and six triathletes for Baku 2015, with two big names missing.

The Spanish NOC confirmed the Spanish Badminton Federation's nominations of men's singles player Pablo Abián, women's singles player Clara Azurmendi as well as the women's doubles team of Laura Molina and Haideé Ojeda for the Baku 2015 European Games.

Abián is currently ranked 59th in the world and at number 51 was Spain's highest-ranked men's player at the 26 March deadline. After competing and losing in the first round of the 2008 Olympic Games, he made it to London 2012 and beat Czech Petr Koukal in the first round to become the first Spanish man to win a badminton match at the Olympic Games before losing in the next match.

The women's singles field in Azerbaijan will be missing its top two ranked Europeans as both Carolina Marín and Beatriz Corrales - the world number two and 25 players, respectively, decided against participating in Baku 2015. That leaves the 16-year-old world number 192 Azurmendi, who was ranked 202nd on 26 March, as the top Spanish women's singles player.

The women's doubles team of Molina and Ojeda is currently ranked 111th in the world.

The Spanish NOC also announced its six-member triathlon team for the European Games.

The women's team is led by three-time Olympian Ainhoa Murua, who will be joined in Azerbaijan by Spanish champion Miriam Casillas and Tamara Gómez, the recent winner of her first World Cup race in Mooloolaba.

The men's team features two-time U23 world champion Fernando Alarza along with 2014 European bronze medallist Vicente Hernández and David Castro.
