The first world Olympic qualifier in wrestling started in Chinese Tayuan today.
Two Azerbaijani freestyle wrestlers stepped to the rink on the first day of the contest. One of them won an Olympic license.
In the weight category below 96 kg, Khetag Gazyumov beat German William Hart, Joseph Jaloviar of Slovakia, Ukraine’s Valeriy Andriytsev and reached the final by securing a berth in London. This is already the 40th license for Azerbaijan and 11th in wrestling.
Unfortunately, Yashar Aliyev (55 kg) lost in the first fight to Tumur Davaagkhuag of Mongolia and fall off the distance since his offender did not reach the final. The sportsmen who get the 1st to 3rd places also get tickets to the tournament.
