Only according to official figures, over third of Armenian population live in poverty. More and more Armenians live in penury therefore people chose the way of emigration.
Acording to official statistics, in 2009 third of Armenian population were lived behind line of poverty. Considering tendencies of steady rise in prices for the goods and services duing the last year the number of the poor people has grown and continues to increase currently.
"My elder son is compelled to work in a bakery far from us to help the family and me with the younger son. He had to live there because of has not enough many to back home. Our major products- flour and sugar and he bake bread ourselvs, so its cheaper" told 60-yers-old Artik Ophik Boyajan.
"In 2008 the general percent of the poor population in the country were 28%., but by the end of 2009 this numer increase to 34%. The official poverty line is equated to the monthly income to 85 $. Level of poverty among children more then 38% and 4.5% of children live in an abject poverty," member of National Statistical Service of the Republic of Armenia Diana Martirosova told.
"Even the the official statistics show that the third of Armnian populatioan-poor. If to consider that methods of calculation of level of poverty used by the government are disputable. In a reality at least the half of population lives in poverty," member of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun, economist Ara Nranyan. In the conditions of promptly growing prices more and more people risk to appear below the breadline.
