Today is 1st June is International Children's Day. June 1st was proclaimed International Children's Day by The World Conference for the Well-being of Children in Geneva, Switzerland in 1925.
The first was the World Conference for the Well-being of Children in Geneva and at the same time the Chinese consul-general in San Francisco gathered a number of Chinese orphans to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival.Since both these incidents had the idea of child welfare at their core.
In April 1950, the WIDF council adopted a resolution, calling for commemorating the International Children's Day under the banner of protecting children from the war, cutting military budget and increasing welfare and education allocations for children.
