Airline boss sorry over daughter's nut row

An airline official has been forced to apologise after his daughter had a crew member thrown off a plane in an argument over nuts.

Korean Air chairman Cho Yang-ho told reporters the 40-year-old's behaviour was "foolish" and that he regrets he did not raise her better.

The row happened after Cho Hyun-ah, who was travelling in first class, was offered macadamia nuts in a bag and not on a plate.

The aircraft was forced back to the gate at John F Kennedy airport in New York City, causing an 11-minute delay.

Her behaviour led to a public backlash in South Korea, with some accusing her of acting like princess and of being an international embarrassment to her country.
