IDEA (International Dialogue for Environmental Action) campaign has organized a scientific workshop on "Protection of Urban Biocenosis", aimed at calling on people to protect homeless animals, SIA reports citing AzerTAc.
The event was held on the occasion of the International Homeless Animals Day, marked on 16 August annually.
Expert of the interactive workshop was PhD in biological sciences Elchin Sultanov.
The event noted that every year 5-7 million animals in the world are sheltered. Despite this, 3-4 million homeless dogs and cats perish.
The humanity suffers a big blow from such losses.
IDEA calls on people to be more attentive in protecting plant and animal species, understand the importance of the biological balance and protect it.
