The 4th Islamic Solidarity Games will be held in Azerbaijan in 2017, the eighth report-election General Assembly of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, has decided.
According to the Azerbaijani National Olympic Committee, Vice-President of the Azerbaijani National Olympic Committee and Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation Chingiz Huseynzade, head of international relations department and executive director of the organizing committee of the Islamic Solidarity Games Baku-2017 Konul Nurullayeva, specialist in international programs of the National Olympic Committee and member of the working group of the Islamic Solidarity Games Mehman Kerimov made a presentation about Azerbaijan at the General Assembly.
The event saw the presentation of 'Baku-2017' book, which provides an insight into Azerbaijan`s vision of the concept of the Games, and highlights the country`s political and economic situation, customs and immigration rules, environment and meteorology, finance, marketing, communications, sports facilities and competitions, residential areas, transportation, security, medical services, and doping control.
The General Assembly also featured the election of the new staff of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation for 2013-2017. Chingiz Huseynzade was re-elected vice-president of the organization for the next four years. At the same time, a landmark decision on membership of a woman in the executive committee of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation was made for the first time on the basis of structural changes since 1968. Konul Nurullayeva became a member of the executive committee.
The Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation also decided to hold its next General Assembly in Baku in 2015.
