Azerbaijani woman beaten in Paris tells the incident

Chairwoman of the Azerbaijani House in Paris Mirvari Fataliyeva, who was beaten by Armenians at the building of the French National Assembly.

According to her, she signed up and received confirmation to participate in an event at the French National Assembly titled "25 Years after the Sumgait events: the current situation and future prospects of the Nagorno-Karabakh people".

Fataliyeva noted that she went to the event together with Azerbaijani student Vusal Huseynov, showed the confirmation letter and entered the hall.

"After the speech of the French representative of self-proclaimed 'Nagorno-Karabakh Republic' and other speeches, the victims of the Sumgait events were commemorated with a moment of silence.

Everyone demanded me and Vusal to stand up. And we said that today is the commemoration day of the Khojaly genocide, and I can stand up only to commemorate its victims.

After that, we were attacked before the eyes of French senators and others. Vusal defended me heroically. We managed to escape miraculously.

We went to another hall which was hosting a meeting of former MPs and ministers. I cried for help, and had they not interfered, we would not have been saved."
