The VIP room of stadium Vicente Calderon, which holds home matches of Madrid football club Atletico, will today host a presentation of the contract between the club and the Azerbaijani side.
The ceremony will be attended by Ambassador of Azerbaijan in Spain Altay Afandiyev and President of Atletico Enrique Cerezo. According to AS, from this cooperation Atletico will earn more than EUR 20m. It is reported that the project will involve the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR).
The first step in the partnership between Atletico, AFFA and FC Baku will be the entrance of the Madrid club players to today's match with "Real" with T-shirt having words "Land of fire Azerbaijan". It is planned that with these T-shirts, Atletico will play not only in the Madrid derby, but in some other matches.
The cooperation outlined a number of mutually beneficial advertising projects. As for the sports part, Atletico may hold a friendly match in Azerbaijan with its core team.
It is intended to implement an extensive program related to the young players. In this regard, the coach of Atletico, well-known former Argentine footballer Diego Simeone, is to arrive in Baku. It is also possible to attract some young players of the club to FC Baku.
