The French press has allocated a special place to materials on the exhibition and a concert on the topic "Cultural values of Azerbaijan, which is the pearl of the Caucasus", in the city of Reims and Chalons-en-Champagne of the Champagne region under the "Days of Azerbaijan" project, organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, with the support of the Embassy Azerbaijan in France to the French closer acquaintance with the country.
According to AzerTAj, the daily edition of the Champagne region - the L'Union newspaper has published articles with details about the visit of the First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva to Reims and her speech at the event held there.
The publication, entitled "Lady-Ambassador of Azerbaijan in Reims" says the First Lady's speech and the interesting exhibition and concert left a great impression about Azerbaijan among those who had little knowledge about the country. The newspaper writes that the residents of Reims who had the first look at the culture and art of Azerbaijan did not conceal their interest in our sunny country and the striving to learn more about it.
The newspaper edition for October 26 informs about successful holding of an event on Cultural values of Azerbaijan, the pearl of the Caucasus held in Reims with participation of the first lady of Azerbaijan, UNESCO and ISESCO goodwill ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva. The author notes that Azerbaijan is an ancient country and provides detailed information that this region has presented to the world literature such geniuses as Mohammed Fizuli as well as the creation of the first democratic government in the East in Azerbaijan in the early 20th century. The article notes that in our country women were enfranchised first in the East, that it has the underground and surface resources, and finally, the fact that the country has a culture, traditions and history of tolerance and civilization.
The article "Azerbaijan in Chalons-en-Champagne" cites Azerbaijano Ambassador Elchin Amirbekov recalling a visit of great French writer Alexander Dumas (the father) and noted that Azerbaijan locates at the junction of East and West, on the Great Silk Road.
The weekly gazette of the region Vendredi gives details about the exhibition and a concert dedicated to Azerbaijan were organized in Chalons-en-Champagne after Reims, and each of the event was a great success. With reference to the words of the first secretary of the Embassy Elmar Mammadov newspaper said: "Azerbaijan is rich in oil and gas and has good relations with France in this field."
