Azerbaijan introduces European standards in land evaluation

The State Committee for Land and Cartography (SCLC) of Azerbaijan will start introducing the best European practices in the field of land valuation.

Introduction of new methods of assessment will be possible thanks to twinning project "Support to the State Committee for Land and Cartography of Azerbaijan in the creation of modern information systems on land registry through process improvement in appraisal and economic assessment of land under EU standards".

Addressing the presentation of the project on Tuesday, head of SCLC Garib Mammadov told journalists that the term of the twinning project worth EUR 900,000 (AZN 865,000) is 18 months.

According to him, the project will receive support from specialists of Latvia and Sweden - countries with centuries of experience in land valuation.

"The project has three main components: the institutional development of the relevant structures of the State Committee and the improvement of the legal framework, the methodology of evaluation of land and its integration into the state system of land registry, registration of information of the state land cadastre and information system of cadastre of cities and villages," Mammadov said.
