"Human values are forgotten in conflict settlement policy"

We are living in a very sensitive world where everything can change within a moment, participant of the Baku International Humanitarian Forum and representative of Pakistani delegation Shahzad Wazeem noted, answering to journalists' questions on Nagorno Karabakh conflict.

"Terrorism and a number of conflicts could be shown as examples to that. Essential elements are always forgotten in conflict settlement. Human values are violated in conflict settlement values. People can come into conflict for the sake of any interest, including social, economic or ethnic grounds," Wazeem added.

He said discussion of intercultural issues is one of the peculiarities of the forum.

"According to modern challenges, it's a very important feature. One cannot follow his own interest while forming any policy. Although world countries accept different cultures, languages and religions, the right decisions are not made during the dialogue. Ethnic issues mostly remain on paper. We have to gather representatives of different cultures as well as politically responsible people together. The importance of ideology realisation was also stressed at the forum. This is the most important message which I have taken from this forum," Wazeem stated.
