The Republic Prosecutor’s Office and Defense Ministry issued a joint statement on death of soldier in "N" military unit. The joint statement says that the statements of parents of soldier of "N" military unit Isgandarli Parviz Jahan in the media outlets and press conferences claiming that their son was beaten and different places of his body were broken, that he was killed and then hanged for covering up traces by 4 officers of the unit, that internals of the soldiers are sold, as well as the other unlawful acts take place in the army, are not true.
The Defense Ministry and the Republic Prosecutor’s Office says that the criminal case has been launched on Criminal Code’s article #125 because of fact of suicide of soldier of N military unit Isgandarli Parviz Jahan on July 14, 2012 and the necessary initial investigating actions were carried out.
The investigation revealed that several soldiers of the N military unit violated the bylaws and offended Parviz Isgandarli on July 2012. As a consequence, Parviz Isgandarli hanged himself on July 14, 2012.
An action was brought against soldiers Shahin Khudiyev, Vusal Iskenderli, Vidadi Mustafayev and Sabir Musayev on July 23, 2012 on charges according to the articles 182.2.1 and 332.3 of the Criminal Code and they were sent to pretrial detention.
The execution of necessary investigating actions towards complete and multilateral investigation of all cases of the incident is being continued. The objective and legal decisions will be passed and the accused will be brought to the judicial responsibility depending on the result of investigation.
