Buses to work until morning on Eurovision eve

Passenger buses in Baku will work until 05:00 a.m. on the eve of Eurovision-2012 Song Contest.

The passenger bus network of Baku has 217 routes. The number of buses serving on these roads is 2,800, referring to the Ministry of Transportation.

The Baku International Bus Station Complex will work in an intensified mode during the event.

Besides, 1,700 taxis (including 1,000 London taxis) were involved, as well. POS terminals were installed in 750 London taxis. The rest 250 taxis will have POS terminals till 18 May.

As many as 39 taxi stops were assigned and marked. Sixty taxis will be available in the airport area. A dispatcher centre has been formed to ensure operational taxis service. English language courses were organized for drivers and guidebooks were developed.

Sixty km of road surface was refurbished and 40,000 meters of street curbs were renewed.

The content and schedule of the Baku-Tbilisi tourist train has been agreed with the Georgian side and seats were reserved.

Relevant information in Azerbaijani, Russian and English languages was placed in Baku, Sumgait and Ganja stations. Cash and cashless (via POS terminals) ticket sale has been organized. Relevant employees were instructed and involved in language courses.

Security and fire protection measures were intensified in railway facilities.
