Russian and Azerbaijani peoples are bound with historical ties and mutual respect of traditions.
The statement is contained in the congratulatory message of the chairman of the State Duma of Russia Sergey Narishkin to the participants of the first constituent session of the World Association of Azerbaijani Youth.
The letter says that in this view the activeness of Azerbaijani youth in Russia is important for strengthening these traditional ties.
"Russia has become home to hundreds of thousands of Azerbaijanis, however, they did not lose contacts with their historical homeland. We recently see the growing activeness of Azerbaijani youth in Russia and we do believe that they will put more efforts to develop ties between the two states", the letter says.
