Azerbaijani MP Fazil Mustafa has once again raised the
issue of returning deposits of population that have stayed in banks
since the Soviet times.
Though the remarks Milli Majlis speaker made on this matter yesterday
22 November) were clear enough, lack of any statements on the part of
the government is alarming, the MP said.
"Unfortunately, none of the government members expressed views on this
issue. This shows that this issue is not going to be addressed any time
soon. Personally, I don’t expect this to happen."
In response, Speaker Oqtay Asadov said that this issue would be settled soon.
"Both government and Milli Majis are working on this issue. It will be
settled very soon. I therefore ask you not to raise this issue over and
over again."
