Head of Turkey’s Religious Affairs Directorate Mehmet Gormez arrived in Baku for an official visit.
Development of religious ties between Turkey and Azerbaijan will
promote the interests of the Muslims of not only the two countries but
also the whole Caucasus and Russia.
The statement came from chief of the Religious Affairs Department of Turkey Mehmet Gormaz in Baku on Friday.
He said, 'joint facilities are to be created between the religious structures of the two countries as a result of cooperation'.
Gormaz also congratulated Azerbaijan on the 20th anniversary of
restoration of state independence and noted that ‘the eternal
independence of Azerbaijan is a wish of the whole people of Turkey’.
