After starring in one of the most successful franchises of the decade and bearing the torch against Hollywood's gender pay gap, Jennifer Lawrence is ready to take on her next challenge: the director's chair.
The 25-year-old Oscar winner will direct Project Delirium, a film based on US Colonel James S Ketchum's top-secret experiments into psychochemical warfare that took place on soldiers during the Cold War.
Ketchum's efforts – which included spiking his colleagues' coffee with LSD and were kept secret until the publication of his memoir 50 years later – were documented in a 2012 New Yorker article, which will form the basis of the film.
Lawrence told Entertainment Weekly: "I’ve signed on to direct something called Project Delirium – it’s based on this article about mental warfare in the Sixties, like an acid experiment gone terribly wrong."
