David Beckham met Nobel prize winner Malala Yousafzai two years after he presented her with a Pride of Britain award. Besides a picture uploaded to his Instagram account, the sports hero had written: "I was fortunate again to meet the incredible and inspirational Malala. A true role model to so many people."
On Saturday Malala was at the Global Citizen Festival before an audience of 60,000 in New York alongside Beyoncé and Michelle Obama. The appearance of the power trio coincided with Victoria Beckham's speech at the UN Headquarters in the Big Apple flanked by Queen Rania of Jordan and Graça Machel, the widow of Nelson Mandela.
